Biography

Mathew R. Sapp, MD

Retina Specialists of Alabama, LLC is honored to welcome Mathew Sapp, the most recent physician to join the staff. Dr. Sapp competed two years of fellowship training with Dr. Morris, Dr. Witherspoon, and Dr. Kimble in vitreoretinal surgery and medical retina. He was invited to join the practiced and accepted chosing to make his home in Birmingham with his wife and young daughter and to continue his practicing his profession with with Retina Specialist.

Dr. Sapp distinguished himself throughout his accademic years graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science, Chemistry, from Birmingham Southern College in 1997. He went on to medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham obtaining a Medical degree in 2002. He did his ophthalmology residency in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)   Department of Ophthalmology.
